In the opening scene of the clip there is a brief compilation of photos that are animated set to intense music, most likely to show that movie that comes after that opening scene is suspenseful and action packed. During this, there is also non-diegetic sound coming from a woman that cannot be seen yet.
After the photos are finished it cuts to a woman speaking to a man over the phone. Cut editing is used here to go back and forth between the man and the woman that are engaging in the phone conversation. There is a somewhat sad and somewhat suspenseful music playing quietly in the background that the characters on screen cannot hear, while also having the diegetic sound of the conversation between the characters.
The man is aboard some type of ship and is flying through the air. There is a wide angle shot to demonstrate how large the ship is. It cuts to inside of the ship and to a close up of the man’s face. The viewer can see the fear and sadness in his facial expression.
It then cuts to an establishing shot of what appears to be New York City a year after the phone call takes place. From seeing the city one cannot tell what time period it is but after seeing the characters’ costumes and the setting one can assume it is early 20th century. There is continued music throughout but can still not be heard by the characters only the audience. The music sets the mood and tone of the scenes taking place. All of the scene are cuts to the next and there is not much diversity in the editing of the scenes.
Near the end of the scene simultaneity is introduced when the main female character approaches a building. Two of the guys in the building go outside to send her away while the third stays inside and eats. The woman ends up beating both of the guys up and the scene jumps back and forth between the man inside eating and the two men getting beat up.
